This course has definitely been beneficial in many ways. It has not only helped me understand how to deal with grammatical problems teachers may be faced with but also social problems. The grammar taught in this course has supplied me with the necessary information I may need in order to teach a successful grammar lesson. Not only have I learnt all the basic rules needed to teach grammar but this course has also allowed me to put what I studied into practice. This course has helped me to be organized in a class showing me exactly what to do and focus on before walking into any class. It has also taught me that even though structure and organization is necessary it is important to be able to keep your lessons flexible, changing activities that are not working or adapting activities to the needs of the class. It has taught me to always keep the needs of the children first, pacing lessons according to the level of the students and not the teaching guides. I have also learnt that although teaching guides are very useful and necessary I should not become reliant on them as this may make my lessons structured and predictable. This course has also provided me with a basic overview of how to deal with behavioral problems in a class and how to best organize a class to ensure all students benefit maximally. I have also learned to always be positive when walking into a class as my mood will affect the entire lesson. Students will feed off my energy which will in turn determine how effective and productive my lessons are. At the same time I should get to know my students, find out what they enjoy and incorporate as much of this into my lessons as possible. My lessons should always be planned thoroughly before class stating what I want to achieve from the class. Most importantly I have learnt to keep my lessons fun, interesting and not try cover too much work in a lesson rather keeping the pace steady. Lessons should always include interesting activities encouraging the students to continue studying english; after all, it is all about the children.
