Speech Act Theory was something completely new to me. I did not know that there were names for these expressions/types of speech. I felt that this was mostly beneficial for me but I will have to think more about how I can include this new information into an activity for students learning Business English of the current high school students I teach.This unit explains the importance of having a lesson plan and makes it clear what components are necessary for a successful lesson. I have learned that having a lesson plan is necessary for both the teacher and the students. However, one should keep in mind that a lesson plan is subject to change that should be adjusted accordingly to student needs.
