Czech Republic Climate

The climate is generally mild in the Czech Republic with cold winters and warm, occasionally damp summers. During the summer the average temperature is 24 °C (75 °F), although night time temperatures can fall to 8 °C (46 °F). The daily temperature during the winter is close to freezing point and drops further at night to -4 °C (26 °F). The coldest months are January and February when the temperature is around -5 °C (23 °F). The sunniest periods are usually spring and summer with May to August being the rainiest periods. Prague often gets considerable amounts of snowfall during the winter months.

The School

Our popular TEFL/TESOL training centre in Prague has two recommended accommodation options for trainees who choose to take their course in the Czech Republic. We can provide a room in a local pension or an apartment in the city, both of which offer safe, comfortable and well located accommodation for the duration of your stay with us. Our recommended accommodation is priced at only 300 euro for 28 nights which offers excellent value for money.

If you choose one of our recommended options, it will be available from the Saturday before the course begins until the Saturday after its conclusion. Alternatively, you are free to make your own accommodation arrangements for your stay, as the city has plenty of hotels, hostels and guest houses to choose from. Accommodation

For your TEFL/TESOL course in Prague, the historical and stunning capital of the Czech Republic, we offer two accommodation options.

TEFL/TESOL Course Accommodation in Prague – Apartment

Our training course in Prague has two apartment choices available to our students. One is currently being offered at 300 euro (the same cost as the home stay option) while the bigger option is priced at 440 euro. Both apartments are situated close to our training centre and are priced for the duration of your training course.

TEFL/TESOL Course Accommodation in Prague – Home Stay

Usually the cost of the home stay option is equal or less that the cost of staying in a shared apartment. This option is not considered a traditional style of home stay as meals are not generally included. You will find the host families very welcoming and friendly, although their English is usually very limited. However, this could be the perfect opportunity to brush up on your Czech or perhaps practice your new teaching ability. Any student who is looking for a private room but has limited money available will find this option affordable.

Generally, our accommodation options are available from the Sunday before the first day of your course until the Saturday after the completion of your course. Anyone wishing to arrive early will have to make their own accommodation arrangements until the Sunday. Ask our staff at the school if you require any advice or assistance with this, they will be happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are my payment options?

    The course deposit payments must be made to our administrative center. The quickest and cheapest method is to pay by credit/debit card, but we also accept payments via Western Union, PayPal and bank transfer. While there are no deadlines for making the deposit payment, courses can fill up quickly and your seat will only be reserved after the deposit has been paid.

    Once you make your deposit, you will receive an email with an informational packet that provides detailed information about the course and Prague itself.

    The balance of course fees is payable via credit card, Pay Pal or bank transfer and it is due 4 weeks before the course begins. Alternatively, based on mutual agreement with the centre you can pay in cash on the first day of the course.

    Courses fees are all-inclusive so you won’t be asked to pay additional costs for course related materials or services. This also includes course moderation, accreditation fees and lifetime job assistance.

  • What are my accommodation options?

    Our Prague TEFL course can offer two options for your accommodation during the course. You can choose between an apartment and a room in a pension. Both options are priced at 300 euro for the duration of the course (28 nights).

    All our accommodation options are located within a short distance of the training centre and are usually available from the Saturday prior to the first day of the TEFL course until the Saturday after the course has finished.

  • What travel documents will I need for the czech republic?

    All visitors to the Czech Republic are required to carry a passport valid for at least six months after their arrival date. Visitors to the Czech Republic from North America, Australia and New Zealand can stay in the country for a maximum of 90 days on a tourist visa which is automatically issued on arrival at the airport. Visitors from EU countries do not require a visa. Citizens from all other countries should contact their local consulate to obtain current travel regulations.*

  • What is the course schedule?

    The first class will take place on Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at which time we will provide a complete course schedule. The input sessions run between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. with regular breaks. On days when you are teaching you will finish a bit later.

  • What can I expect during teaching practice?

    Lessons are based upon real teaching resources found all over the world and you will also have the chance to create your own materials. You will receive the aid of your course trainer throughout lesson planning and receive immediate feedback on your lesson after it’s been delivered. Practicum is assessed and a satisfactory assessment is required to earn your TEFL/TESOL certificate.

  • Who usually attends the course?

    The majority of trainees are British or American, while many others come from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, South Africa and the Philippines. Occasionally, we do get fluent non-native English speakers from Western Europe, Scandinavia, India, China, Thailand, etc. Trainees must be 18 years of age or older and the age range varies greatly depending on the course.

  • Is there a dress code?

    For all input and tutorial sessions at the training location, there are no specific dress requirements. We simply ask that you are mindful of your peers and respectful of the fact that you are a visitor in another country.

  • What should I bring for course studies?

    Please be sure to arrive on the first day of the course with a notebook and a pen. We also encourage you to bring a laptop as we have Wi-Fi at the training center. We will provide all course materials for you so there is no need to bring anything else for the course itself.
